DAIMARU 300th ANNIVERSARY

To commemorate the 300th anniversary of the opening of Daimaru Shinsaibashi Store, we produced mannequins modeled after its founder, Shotaro Shimomura, as part of a spatial presentation recreating scenes from the time, under the slogan “Zutto, Akinai.” In this project, three poses were adopted: a bowing figure, a figure respectfully seated in seiza, and a figure engaged in reading. By carefully expressing the spirit, manners, and presence of the founding era, we created an installation that allows visitors to experience the historical context. Serving as an element that complements the overall storytelling of the space, the installation goes beyond mere visual reproduction, playing a role in conveying the company’s philosophy and culture.
